Spectacles Case ~ FREE PATTERN

I've had a few requests to make a case for regular glasses and sunglasses.

I am sure there are plenty of different patterns out there on the world-wide-web ... but I had something specific in mind and went to work to make it happen.

Super simple! Super adaptable!

Here it is;

Spectacles Case

Materials
Worsted Weight (#4) Yarn ~ I used scraps of 100% Cotton
H/8 (5mm) Hook
Yarn Needle - to weave in those pesky tails
Button

Optional Materials
Coordinating Fabric - felt or something soft, keeping the lenses in mind
Sewing Needle
Coordinating Thread

Abbreviations
ST = stitch      SLST = slip stitch      CH = chain      SC = Single Crochet

Pattern Notes
* This pattern is worked in the round - with right side facing you
* You will be joining with a SLST at the end of each round
* You will change your working colour after EACH row AND you will carry each colour up on the inside of your work - DO NOT FASTEN OFF UNTIL END

I used 4 different colours here - I think it would look really fun with each row as a different colour!

Instructions

1 - colour 1 - Chain 50 - join with SLST to beginning CH to form circle. Careful not to twist your CH
2 - colour 1 - CH1, SC in each CH space around {50 SC} (join, change colour)
3 - colour 2 - CH1, SC, *CH1, skip 1 st, SC in next st* repeat from *to* around. Join with SLST to beginning SC, changing colour
4 - colour 1 - repeat Round 3
5 - colour 3 - repeat Round 3
6 - colour 1 - repeat Round 3
7 - colour 4 - repeat Round 3
8 - colour 1 - repeat Round 3
9 - colour 2 - repeat Round 3
10 - colour 1 - repeat Round 3
11 - colour 3 - repeat Round 3
12 - colour 1 - repeat Round 3
13 - colour 4 - repeat Round 3
14 - colour 1 - CH1, SC, *CH1, skip 1 st, SC in next st* repeat from *to* around. Join with SLST to beginning SC
~ place your seam (joining point) on the side of your work ~
15 - colour 1 - CH1, SC, *CH1, skip 1 st, SC in next st* repeat from *to* until you reach the middle point, chain 8 (or more depending on your button size), repeat from *to* around to end. Join with SLST to beginning SC

Position your button on the opposite side, making sure the loop will fit over snug, but not too snug. Sew into place.
Turn inside out ~ SLST bottom closed ~ Fasten off and weave in all ends
Turn it right side out, and there you have it!
A super-stylin' spectacles case!

OPTIONAL
You can take a piece of fabric, measure it to fit inside, and hand-sew it into place.

This pattern is extremely adjustable. Just chain an even number of stitches, and make it the appropriate size of what you want in it!
For example, your smart phone, tablet or even your laptop!
